El libro que menos me ha gustado de Brin. El intento de describir un futuro cercano y coherente con una tierra al borde del abismo por la superpoblación y los desastres ecológicos está bien pero los personajes y la historia no acaban de funcionar. Resulta muy interesante el epilogo donde el autor explica el proceso de creación de la obra donde queda claro que la idea no era nala pero no supo cuajarla bien.
A Brin, uno de mis autores favoritos, a veces le pasa esto, que sus tramas no están a la altura de sus geniales trasfondos.
